Will probably see it heading away with convoy later, but it is already late as was due away a few minutes ago.

Not bowled and no timber yard noise in the background, makes a pleasant change! To be honest, I only went there in case it was chucking it down - as there is better shelter from the rain!!

Dear Sharpo, I like the video and have a question about something seen in the background. Do you know anything about the light coloured bridge in the distance that the trains pass underneath? It looks rather a strange shape.

Pending an answer from our correspondent on the Dark Side, from this view in google maps it looks like an open box carrying a pipeline (possible water?) across the railway.

There is something labelled "Conduit" in the same location on the 1904 Ordnance Survey Map so it, or something similar, appears to have been there for a long time!

Reg,

Thanks for comments about the video. I believe it is some sort of "bridge" that carries water. I remember some years ago the line was closed because of flooding and I couldn't work out why that could happen at the top of the incline. Then I was told about the water that runs across there, so could understand it might be a problem if it overflowed.

If I find out any more about it I will add it later.
