When did/does 7714s boiler certificate commence/expire?

Not sure, but the spare pannier boiler (formerly on 5764) is being worked on in the boiler shop to go on to 7714 when the time comes.

After recent events, is that altogether wise?

Don't forget the South Devon has gas rings sold to them by the SVR. Embarassed Embarassed

On it wheels at last this afternoon; so I guess it won't be long before it re-enters service.

Hum, thinks; how much boiler ticket has been wasted whilst it was sitting on the jacks?

With the months spent on the jacks (mainly er, waiting....), and seeing little use before while restricted to 6 coach sets, 7714 hasn't done much work for some time now. It will good to have it back - it always was a strong engine (crank axle excepted until now).

Saw 7714 today. It is now off the jacks (7812 is on them) and is an 0-6-0 again. It looked like someone was refitting the expansion links.

Its in the boiler shop having some minor attention prior to re-entering traffic. "Stitch in time" stuff as I understand it.

Humm, Thinks; If only some other lines looked after thier boiler repairs as well.

7714 appears to be back in traffic, I saw it today operating within Bridgnorth loco yard. I think it has now been over a year since it last ran a service train. Confused
