Watching 1501 'help' SKP out of Hampton Loade towards Bridgnorth on Sunday afternoon was a sight to behold.

1501 broke a spring when being transfer to the NYMR (well that's what I've heard) so she was only doing bits in grosmont station. Still she looked nice yesterday when I was there.

Off to Swanage now apparently.

Was the broken spring repaired/replaced at the NYMR for the loco to escape the confines of Goathland on Sunday?

After NYMR, Swanage and Nene Valley, she's off to GCR per their website http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/special-events/winter-gala-30th-31st-jan-1st-feb/

I picked this up off a comment from Facebook, I can't find this on any of the SVR news sources

Patrick,

Duncan tweeted a link to the GCR's event from the SVR engineering account on the 15th December.

Ah yes, I saw that at the time thanks, but as nothing SVR was mentioned in the tweet I thought it was just a general mention and didn't open the link.

Yeah, it's not exactly signposted that there's a direct SVR connection to the event!
Is it known whether 1501 is returning to the valley before heading to the GCR, or will she travel direct from the NVR?

North Norfolk Railway Twitter:

Quote:
Courtesy of the 1501 Pannier Tank Association and @svrofficialsite, 1501 will be joining our March Gala

NNR Facebook

Quote:
The final visitor for the March Gala has been confirmed. Courtesy of the 1501 Pannier Tank Association & Severn Valley Railway will be the GWR Tank 1501. The Locomotive is based at the Severn Valley Railway and will be attending the Gala arriving on the 3rd of March and departing shortly after the event

Added to SVR Facebook and Twitter.

NYMR, Swanage, Nene Valley, GCR and now North Norfolk - five visits in six months. Flying the flag! There seems to be reciprocity now for gala events, so possibly some future visitors will come from those railways?

I'd really like the M&NJt.RS's Y14 GER 0-6-0 to visit from the NNR - I can see her being a showstopper like 828 was...
