1501 is shown on Meet The Locomotives as stopped for repairs. 1450 is shown as off to Didcot.

1501 is still shown on the Didcot events page as attending.

Can anyone clarify please?

Thanks

Patrick

1501 was lit up yesterday afternoon for a steam test today, so I believe it is still planned to be going away.

During last week GWR 2857 suffered a broken spring.

With the diner due to be attached to a service train and a 10 coach load it gave the opportunity for a 1960s feel on a return trip from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth, with D8059 coupled to 1501.

The next day 2857 was back in traffic.

Nene Valley Railway Facebook 26 June

Quote:
We are pleased to advise with thanks to the 1501 Pannier Association and the Severn Valley Railway. Large Pannier No 1501 will be visiting the NVR for a period of hire from early August until after our September Steam Gala. This being the second visit of this great locomotive after she assisted with our Santa Special service in 2014. Running dates for the locomotive will be added to our web page in due course.

Their September Steam Gala is September 12th. The SVR gala runs 17th to 20th

Havng stood in for 2857 when she broke a spring, 1501 has broken one today. 4566 and D8059 are deputising (per Facebook)

Saw D8059 working this morning & heard what the problem was. Did 4566 take over from the 20 later in the day?

Yes, 4566 was working solo on the 3.00 from Kidderminster. The 1.25 from Bridgnorth was double headed, but presumably to save a LE move for the 20.

Reported under Special Events that 1501 had suffered a broken spring last night at the Spring gala. Is there a weakness in the design of the loco's suspension or some external factor such as track quailty?

Regards
Reg.
