So what state is she in? or is it just testing boiler and putting together again? (looking at SVRA website says boiler being prep'd for hydralic test)

Well, that and continuing to make the many replacement parts as necessary, and fixing others where they still need it, fitting jobs like lapping in, trial assembly, painting, final assembly, finish painting, testing, snagging, and running-in.

looking forward to seeing the loco for the first time when it is service. Is that type of loco related to the Micky Mouse class? Also I'm guessing it's a freight type loco.

Now there's a question for posters!

Both are LMSR 2-6-0 H M Ivatt designed, taper boilered mixed traffic engines. The 43XXX is a 1947 class 4 and the 464XX a 1946 class 2. But in what other sense, if any, might they be termed 'related'?

Just the sort of stupid comment to endear you to other people, encourage a spirit of co-operation and mutual understanding and provide constructive criticism and engineering competence to the discussion.

Well done!

I think someone's been stirring your mud, m.c. It's making you come out with daft things and demonstrating just the teensiest bit of bias...It's probably stress brought on by a combination of footplate deprivation and marriage.

This diagnosis has been brought to you, free, by Doctor Smooth, physician to the hoi-polloi, consultant to the cognoscenti and medic to the masses, etc. blah.

John; don't forget that marital deprivation can also make folks grumpy.

From extensive personal research, I can confidently state that marriage is more likely to make you grumpy than the other way round. Don't foget that, in marriage, there's always a woman involved...
