Enjoyed a good thrash behind this beast today. It's not subtle is it? It's not the sort of loco to take home to meet your mother!
42968 and 5164 were fun also. Good to see Kate Wood on 5164. I was at school with her husband, Martin, who some of you will know.

Haven't you read the Thomas books?! It is a well known saying! It seems that certain diesels aren't respectable either!

Erm yes, I've read them all, actually!

It's just that the SVR has two very respectable domeless engines: 5110 and 2968.

Runs and hides!

I must disagree, the only respectable domeless engines come in the 4 numbered green type!

and if 2968 and 5110 are domeless whats that between the clacks?

anyway whos gonna be the first diesel fan to complain about steam ramblings on this thread?

i take your point. Still an unnecessarily large pimple for a top feed. should have left the saftey valves there and been a proper domeless engine!

The 'Ruston 906 Group' website is updated with reports of her trip to the Mid Norfolk Railway's successful and enjoyable Class 37 Golden Jubilee Gala and the Nene Valley Railway's Diesel Gala. 2010 sees the 50th anniversary of the Class 37s and 37906 helped celebrate at the National Railway Museumís Anniversary Weekend on 16-17 October.

Where is 37906 going now, just seen an e-group posting about it and another preserved 37 up Newcastle way? I know it has been to York recently.

EDIT - are they going to Bo'ness? The other 37 is based there and in January next year a Class 37 event is booked for January 2nd.

Yes mate...

We were approached by the Bo'ness guys to borrow 37906 for their Class 37 50th event on 2nd Jan 2011 on Tuesdsay this week, and it has all fallen into place very quickly!!

37906 will almost certainly remain in Scotland until spring 2011, and return in time for the 2011 SVR season!!

The Bo'ness boys are going to look at putting antifreeze in the loco and doing afew minor jobs on it prior to it's return. Mutually beneficial is the best way to describe the arrangement...
