A sad day indeed with so many happy memories of work done on the old girl. But us volunteers all have our own priorities and projects and cant do everything we wish.
At least she is going to safe hands.

Today 37906's existing bogies have been re-connected to the loco sufficiently to permit a rail move. There are some minor bits to re-secure (e.g one loose cab step), but the loco is essentially fit for towing on Network rail. All being well, a preliminary brake test will be done tomorrow using 50031 to create a brake.

Silly question, but could there have been an option of first refusal when it is up for disposal at the end of its (second) main line career?
Not a silly question as such but are there likely to be more people willing to maintain it at that future unspecified date? There's precious few now considering the overall number of machines preserved.

There is an option, but based on current resources, I cannot imagine it likely to be exercised without an influx of willing volunteers.

Will the group disband now?

That is the likely outcome. Shareholders will be paid back the value of the loco & assets.

SVR Master diary 11/1/14 reads: Dropping of D8188 and removing 37906 from KR TMD (also reported elsewhere).

No timings shown on Realtime Trains.

Waited for ages. Knew 37 was left behind, got half way home then found out 47727 was on way back, so back to Old Hill for a photo.

EDIT The above message was a bit of a jumble, but I typed it when walking home & was very cold. Basically, it means the move was cancelled & 47727 left Kidder without the 37.

I can now confirm that the sale of 37906 has been completed, and the locomotive is now owned by Europheonix.
