How can one 'deregister' from these forums please?

Not the most helpful 'advice' since he hasn't elaborated on what has led to him wanting to de-register.

It's down to the board Admin, and indeed the SVR (to a degree), to address what has 'upset' him and act accordingly. Telling another member to 'go away' (which is how quoted post reads) solves nothing and if anything reinforces his thoughts (from another post) about these boards being a little overly member-orientated.
